American astrologer who began his study the summer of 1992 after hearing a radio show on Astrology. After several months, he had a consultation with the show host, Richard Whiten, July 1992. At the end of the reading, he told Mu that he could be a very good astrologer if he worked at it. Mu did not take that opinion seriously. A few months later, that fall, a relationships ended, his job ended and he was feeling that he was at a crossroads. One day in December, on impulse he went into an esoteric store. On a book shelf in the back there was a big burgundy book called "The Complete Astrologer" by Derek and Julia Parker, and he bought it. Mu never looked back. He studied all day every day, no less than 12 hours a day for the next six months. When he started back on a job, he would study before work, at lunch time, then go to the bookstore and read books off the shelf until closing time. He began private instruction from Basil Fearrington who taught him virtually everything about Western astrology. Mu's social life turned from buddies and girl friends to astrology charts and his spare time was spent writing 20-page thesis on charts. Basil became more than a good teacher about astrology and about life but a beloved friend. In October of 1996, he met Noel Tyl, and in the Spring of 1998, Basil introduced him to Vedic Astrology. He began to study in New York City with Vishnu Sharma, Ph.D., of Punjab India. Sharma said that Mu would end up teaching in universities. As of 2001, Mu is devoted to astrology, his life. He has no desire to do anything else and has kept mundane jobs briefly while building up an astrological practice. A Muslim in belief, he has taken the name of Mu'Min Bey.
