German theatre and film actress and dancer, who played frisky and naïve young women early in her career, and later appeared in character roles. She made her debut in 1898 as a choir singer at the City Theater of Brieg. In 1899 she played at the Lessingtheater Berlin. Afterwards she received an appointment in Wiesbaden where she played Nerissa in The Merchant of Venice. She also proved her versatility as a dancer in The Hand. In 1903 she moved to the Royal Theater Berlin. In 1913 she received the title role of the heroine Queen Luise in Franz Porten's three-part biopic Filmbiografie über die Königin Luise. Later, she appeared as Luise in a 1930 movie. Mostly she had now become a supporting actress, sometimes as in Lauter Liebe (1940) as the mother of Hertha Feiler, she also took on larger tasks. On 8 May 1945, the day of the German capitulation at the end of the Second World War, she committed suicide in Berlin. Link to Wikipedia biography
