Australian astrologer and author of the nine text books used by the Academy of Hermetic Astrology in Canberra. The texts are designed for both classroom or private study and present the Hermetic system in a student-friendly, systematic format. Two texts are learning aids - "50 Australian Birthcharts" and "The Progressed Chart Book." Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Sutton had a conventional education. He first became interested in Astrology in 1969-70 but a year later decided it was a lot of mumbo-jumbo. A local teacher then recommended that he read the two Research and Reference Cyclopedias published by the Church of Light. The effect was so impressive that he stopped paid work to study the Hermetic system for the next six years. During this time, Sutton taught himself astrodynes and major, minor and transit progressions, all hand-calculated. During the 1980s he was quite active in the local astrological community with teaching and lecturing before phasing into full-time writing. He received his Hermetician's Certificate from the Church of Light in 1991. In 1994, he moved to South West Rocks, a quiet small town where, the following year, he became involved in the establishment of the Hermetic Academy, writing texts for the next four years. Sutton keeps some time for play and greatly enjoys swimming.
