American writer and mystic, a "conscious sensitive" since youth; his books include "Revelation, Birth of a New Age." David’s spiritual experience began in childhood, gradually leading him to the awareness that humanity is entering a new cycle of evolution, a New Age. In 1964, he began to lecture and work with groups involved in the formation of this era, work that has carried him throughout the U.S. and into Europe. He was the visionary co-founder of the Findhorn Community in northern Scotland which he helped direct for three years. In 1973 he returned to the U.S. and became a founder-director of the Lorian Association. During the ‘90s, he was involved with broad movements toward conscious evolution into the emerging new age, including a connection with the work emerging from the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC. He headquarters in Seattle, WA with his wife and four kids. In his philosophy, Spangler believes that Jesus and the Christ are two distinct beings where the reality of Christ is the more important of the two, manifested through the vehicle of Jesus for a period of three years. He teaches that Christ is a manifest concept in the world’s religions, a universal spirit. His book, "A Pilgrim in Aquarius," 1997, gives a personal account of his involvement in the global movement known as "The New Age," which he sees as a goal of ecological awareness, new paradigms of science and technology, and insights into personal empowerment and responsibility. He perceives it optimistically as a genuine grass-roots movement of everyday spirituality and creativity by individuals who focus exclusively on light and disregard evil. In his book, "Parent as Mystic, Mystic as Parent," 1999, Spangler views parenting as a high and holy calling, a teacher who honors in children their potential with such homily observations as, "God is a lap." Described as a "teacher of teachers," Spangler is a philosopher, educator, writer and lecturer who has taught spiritual awareness since the early ‘70s. From 1965 to 1969, he taught classes in human relationships and self-development in the San Francisco Bay area and was a teacher for the San Jose Adult Education program before moving to Scotland for three years. From 1978 to 1984, he designed and taught classes for the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in future studies, community development, leadership, the "new science," and emerging new paradigms. He has also designed and taught online computer classes. Other books include "Emergence: The Rebirth of the Sacred," "The Call" and Everyday Miracles. In speaking of "being at home in the universe," he said, "When we feel at home in the cosmos, we inhabit our bodies differently. We inhabit our lives less defensively and more joyously. There can still be effort to accomplish what we want, but we have more resources -- of energy, wisdom, intuition, and community -- to draw on to make that effort. And, at times, effort disappears, and we find ourselves moving effortlessly to accomplish and attract what we wish. We find ourselves at the center of everyday miracles." Link to Wikipedia biography
