Peruvian socialite, second wife of former Peruvian President Manuel Prado y Ugarteche. She served as First Lady of the Nation from 1958 to 1962. Daughter of the wealthy mining entrepreneur and former minister of state, Fermín Málaga Santolalla, and Clorinda Bravo Bresani. She was educated at the exclusive Sacred Heart School Sophianum of Lima and Paris, where she met Manuel Prado y Ugarteche, son of the president Mariano Ignacio Prado, who was married with Enriqueta Garland Higginson, who had two sons. Manuel Prado assumed the Presidency of the Republic in 1939, and his wife assumed the title of First Lady. By 1956, Prado again assuming the presidency, but by that time was already separated from Enriqueta Garland, which finally divorced in 1958, getting that Pope Pius XII annul the marriage to marry Málaga, a fact that caused controversy in the Lima society. Manuel Clorinda and the chapel of the Palace of Government were married. Clorinda Málaga took over as First Lady and quickly became world known for her elegance. The first lady was chosen by the Daily Herald in London, as one of the most elegant women in the world; He was also mentioned in prestigious journals such as the American edition of Vogue.On 18 July 1962, General Ricardo Perez Godoy made a coup against President Prado, who was exiled to Paris with his wife.
